Rimmell London Kate Sculpting Palette (contour, ladies)!

kate contour

The invention of contour has reallllllyy enriched our lives.  Don’t cha think? Admit it!  Whether it’s because you silently giggle at the girl that looks like Halloween or you admire the woman who has a flawless, perfect glow, and you wonder how you can achieve the look…

While I’m still a rookie in the contour game, as I don’t truly feel like I need it or that it’s necessary, I like to dabble in it some.  Rimmell London’s Kate Moss Collection has pretty much been FIRE to me (see my previous post regarding her nude lipstick collection) and she did not disappoint with this sculpting palette–so pretty!

I received both 001 Golden Sands  and 003 Golden Bronze complimentary in exchange for my honest review.

Obviously, Golden Sands would not work for darker skin tones such as mine unless you love clowns.  However, the color combination is great and I think it could work well for someone of fair to medium complexion.  My photo doesn’t do it justice really!  It is really not that chalky in person, it just doesn’t work well with my chocolate!

Now, Golden Bronze I was impressed with.  I had a difficult time getting it to show up in a picture, and had to put it on my arm like 3 times!  That’s a win in my book, because your contour game shouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb.  When I’ve used this for contouring, the colors provided just enough shimmer!  The sculpter could be a little darker in my opinion, but I was still pleased in my overall look when using this product.

Another plus is the price point (runs about $6-$7) and the availability!  It’s sold at many of our favorite retailers such as Target, Walmart and more!

Brows, Demi Lovato & NYC Plus Kate Moss Nude Lippies

Hello Makeup Junkies!

brows 1

Let’s face it…we’ve all seen some crazy brows these last couple of years!  We discussed our love-hate relationship in my previous post Eyebrows, Are You Frowning Upon Them?  I just misssssssssss seeing actual hair for eyebrows–I’m not a fan of the overuse of putty resulting in dark, thick, madness on your face.  Fail.  However, I am indeed a fan of a very well-groomed, arched look.  So, our quest to find a happy medium continues, and I’ve got my hands on something that I LOVE!

Did you know that Demi Lovato is an Ambassador of New York Color?  Have you heard of Lovatics by Demi Eyebrow Pencil?  OMG, love love love!

lovatics pencilIt comes in 2 colors, Dark Brown and Medium Brown.  I received Dark Brown and the color blended so well with my brows (which are black).  The pencil is very smooth which allowed me to apply without making my eyebrows too dark, there was no tugging on the skin, and no bleeding of color.  The blending brush on the end is super hard, it almost hurt my skin, but I will use my own spoolie to blend in the future.

A+, I cannot sing the praises of this product enough!  It’s going to be one of my makeup staples…we are now married with no divorce in sight.  The best?  FANTASTIC availability and price.  Snag one for about 2 bucks at Walmart, Target, Kmart or Family Dollar

Want that little detail that changes it all? With the new Lovatics by Demi Eyebrow Pencil, complete your look like your favorite stylishly cool star and create a work of art with long wear color that easily defines natural brows in high definition. The pencil easily glides for color application while the built in brush enables you to groom and shape your brows for a masterpiece only suitable for the Met. Make the difference in one of the below shades at a must-have price point.

Here is a quick look I achieved using Lovatics by Demi Eyebrow Pencil.  Picture is showing one as the other brow is disrespectful due to childhood injury…

kate moss

Model Kate Moss has embarked on something fantastic with her new Kate Moss Lasting Finish Nude Collection.  Here is a swatch of colors received:

I have to say, I was SUPRISED.  When I first glanced at each color before applying, I thought this would be geared towards lighter skin tones.  Well, untrue!  Each color (with the exception of #46 which I still loved) looked great on my skin.  And, I’ll still use #46, I’ll just likely mix it with another color to give it some depth.  These lipsticks were very well-pigmented, smooth, rich and didn’t bleed.  They also had some pretty good lasting power!  Additionally, these lippies had great moisture–I didn’t even prep my lips before applying!

If you’re of chocolate persuasion like myself, don’t be scared!  Give it a whirl, it’s a great buy!  Also available at some of our favorite retailers…Target, Walmart, etc. for around $6-$8 bucks!

These Boots Are Made for…Faces?

Top of the morning!  I’ve got the scoop on more healthy skin care–#teamorganic!  Have you ever heard of Boots?  Sure you have.  But have you heard of Boots Botanics?  Well, never fear–I received products for free in exchange for my honest review.  And being the kind girl I am, I’m so happy to share with you what I’ve learned ;).  Let’s get started!

boots balm

The first thing I used was Boots Botanics Organic Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm.  This gets an A+ for uniqueness at the very least, I’ve never used something like this before!  The consistency is similar to Chapstick or Carmex and it also smelled AMAZING.  Very natural, very light.  It contains Jojoba  Oil, Shea Butter and Rose Hip, so it didn’t leave my skin dry at all.

“Massage balm over face and neck.  Soak the cloth in warm water and use as a gentel compress to draw out impurities.  Remove remaining Balm.  Finish by soaking the cloth in cold water and press gently over face to close pores.”  Ok? Done!

boots day cream I was provided with the opportunity to try Boots Botanics All Bright Hydrating Day Cream which I also loved.  It too smelled amazeballs USA!  It has a really creamy lotion-like consistency which I enjoy!  It’s on the thicker side, but not at all too heavy for the face.  I also love day creams that have an SPF!  I’ll likely add a stronger one on top of this when I plan to be outside more, but SPF 15 is a great start!  It also contains hibiscus which is said to brighten the skin tone, and Hyaluronic acid to boost moisture levels.  Remember when we discussed the perks of Hyaluronic Acid in my previous post?

boots night cream

Boots Botanics Hydrating Night Cream has a great consistency to it as well.  To be honest, it has a little bit more of a perfumy scent than what I enjoy–a scent very different than the other 2 products.  But as I’m sure you’ve noticed, and as I’ve said, I’m really sensitive to scent and very picky!  My skin felt great when using this overnight, and I woke up to really soft skin!

Some key points about Boots:

-Included in each product is a unique key extract, selected to target a specific need

All products are free of parabens, mineral oils, paraffin waxes, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (doesn’t this sound like the name of twin girls?!), replacing with man-made chemicals and natural ingredients when possible

Not tested on animals

Packaging uses recycled materials where possible

The best part is the easy availability and the price points, as you can buy these products at Tarjay aka Target.  Winning!  Click here for Boots Botanics

What do you think, have you tried these products?  And if so, was it a win for you?  Will you incorporate Boots into your skincare regimen?

Cheers to fashionable skin,
