Brows, Demi Lovato & NYC Plus Kate Moss Nude Lippies

Hello Makeup Junkies!

brows 1

Let’s face it…we’ve all seen some crazy brows these last couple of years!  We discussed our love-hate relationship in my previous post Eyebrows, Are You Frowning Upon Them?  I just misssssssssss seeing actual hair for eyebrows–I’m not a fan of the overuse of putty resulting in dark, thick, madness on your face.  Fail.  However, I am indeed a fan of a very well-groomed, arched look.  So, our quest to find a happy medium continues, and I’ve got my hands on something that I LOVE!

Did you know that Demi Lovato is an Ambassador of New York Color?  Have you heard of Lovatics by Demi Eyebrow Pencil?  OMG, love love love!

lovatics pencilIt comes in 2 colors, Dark Brown and Medium Brown.  I received Dark Brown and the color blended so well with my brows (which are black).  The pencil is very smooth which allowed me to apply without making my eyebrows too dark, there was no tugging on the skin, and no bleeding of color.  The blending brush on the end is super hard, it almost hurt my skin, but I will use my own spoolie to blend in the future.

A+, I cannot sing the praises of this product enough!  It’s going to be one of my makeup staples…we are now married with no divorce in sight.  The best?  FANTASTIC availability and price.  Snag one for about 2 bucks at Walmart, Target, Kmart or Family Dollar

Want that little detail that changes it all? With the new Lovatics by Demi Eyebrow Pencil, complete your look like your favorite stylishly cool star and create a work of art with long wear color that easily defines natural brows in high definition. The pencil easily glides for color application while the built in brush enables you to groom and shape your brows for a masterpiece only suitable for the Met. Make the difference in one of the below shades at a must-have price point.

Here is a quick look I achieved using Lovatics by Demi Eyebrow Pencil.  Picture is showing one as the other brow is disrespectful due to childhood injury…

kate moss

Model Kate Moss has embarked on something fantastic with her new Kate Moss Lasting Finish Nude Collection.  Here is a swatch of colors received:

I have to say, I was SUPRISED.  When I first glanced at each color before applying, I thought this would be geared towards lighter skin tones.  Well, untrue!  Each color (with the exception of #46 which I still loved) looked great on my skin.  And, I’ll still use #46, I’ll just likely mix it with another color to give it some depth.  These lipsticks were very well-pigmented, smooth, rich and didn’t bleed.  They also had some pretty good lasting power!  Additionally, these lippies had great moisture–I didn’t even prep my lips before applying!

If you’re of chocolate persuasion like myself, don’t be scared!  Give it a whirl, it’s a great buy!  Also available at some of our favorite retailers…Target, Walmart, etc. for around $6-$8 bucks!

Sick of Colourpop Yet?

Okay, so unless you live in a hole, you’ve probably heard of Colourpop!  I finally had the opportunity to partake in my own official Colourpop haul around Christmas time…and here are my thoughts…wow!

So at the time, they were running a great sale, and I got 7 Ultra Matte Lips for $33.60!  Their prices are reasonable all the time, but the sale made it even more intriguing.  It felt like it took forever and a day to arrive, but considering the time of year, I wasn’t surprised (maybe I ordered it that Cyber Monday or so?), and I really don’t think it truly took that long.  But boy, was it worth the damn wait! I really loved them all, but I’m going to share with you my faves!  And yes, they’re bold and yes they’re matte!

Hard to describe, maybe an emerald green-ish?

Whoop Whoop!  Love a good blue!

Colourpop GuessGuess

This one is super fun!  It’s very dark…almost black on the lips with a twinge of purple.

A deep dark red–fiyah!

More Better

This one gives me LIFE!  The color is so rich, it’s better than I even expected!  Don’t sleep on this one!  It may not be grammatically correct, but omg is it the truth–my top pick out of the bunch!

The other colors I received were Limbo and Kapow which were both good too!

I’ve heard some complaints about them being drying, but as long as you prep your lips prior to application (I like to use coconut oil and let that soak in first) then you should be good!  And really, how can you truly complain–that price tho!  This is a win win!

What do you guys think about Colorpop?  I’d really like to know what colors you’ve tried, and have you tried their eyeshadows?  I have not yet, but I plan to soon!

4 New Shades to Drop in My Stocking

WILL WE BE FASHIONABLY?  As you may remember from my previous post, Revlon Matte Balms are one of my faves, and I always carry them in my purse.  The color is rich and creamy, long lasting and has great pigment!  Well, I just wanted to do a quick post to let you know (in case you hadn’t heard) Revlon has 4 fairly new shades released, and I want to get my hands on at least 3 of them!  The colors are Enchanting, Fierce, Fiery and Passionate.  I think I have feelings for Fiercy, Fiery and Passionate.  For approximately $5-$6 bucks at any drug store, here’s another great buy for the makeup enthusiast!

Which ones do you like?  Do you have some of this collection already?

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm

4 new shades to love. Vibrant colors infused with a Triple Butter Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel. Go bold and get moisturized in 10 craveable, collectible shades.

Lancome Color Design Eyeshadows & Melt’s Blow

WILL WE BE FASHIONABLE?  These are pricey to me… $20 per small eyeshadow (1 color, not a palette) but boy do me likey! Lancome Color Design Eyeshadows shocked me…it didn’t look like a great big deal in the container, but once I put it on I was a fan! The colors are phenomenal and a little goes a long way!

I like to wear these 3 together…my favorite combo is to use All that Brightens (shown far left) on my brow bone, Colour Du Juor (middle) on my lid and Successorize (far right) in the crease. The first two are extremely metallic but the sheen is a subtle bright one and not huge pieces of glitter which I like. Successorize is a matte color and it blends very very smoothly.

My go-to is generally drugstore makeup simply because I like to get a lot of bang for my buck. But occasionally it’s fun to indulge a little and I think these eyeshadows by Lancome are a great choice!

Make a statement with these shadow singles designed by Lancôme Global makeup artists. Available in a variety of chic shades and finishes—from shimmer to sheen and metallic to matte—to complement every wardrobe. Lancôme’s Micro-aired technology promises effortless application and smooth-gliding color that’s beautifully blendable. The long-lasting, pigment-packed color stays true for daylong wear.

Melt Cosmetics Blow

WILL WE BE FASHIONABLE? Ahhh…yes! I told you the other day that I’ve had my eye on Melt Cosmetics for a while. I have been so excited to try their products!

Melt Cosmetics Blog Post

First of all, Melt’s customer service is fabulouso! I ordered it, received a tracking number, and it was to my door and in my hot little hands PDQ. And it did NOT disappoint.  The lipstick was smooth, creamy, long-lasting and very matte. The pigment was absolutely amazing–the green color was solid after applying it once on my lips. It wasn’t drying. I cannot wait to try more of their products!

Spotlight on Melt Cosmetics!

I’ve had my eye on Melt Cosmetics for a while!  Have you heard of them or tried anything?  I’m in love with bold makeup colors, and this group seems to be the queen of bright, vibrant lippies and of course they are….drumroll please….MATTE!  Ahh….

Here is what is currently giving me goosebumps:

Don’t let that devil name fool you, because this lipstick appears to be all sorts of heavenly!  It’s perfect for fall, and the color strikes me as classy and bold.  It looks great on this girl’s porcelain skin, and I think it will also translate well on my chocolate skin!

By Starlight  By Starlight

As you can see, this one is sold out, but boy, once it’s back in stock, I’ll be giving my debit card the workout it enjoys!  The purple looks so bright…I have so many shades of purple lipstick!  But each of them are my fave in a different way.  I don’t play favorites with my babies!

I just ordered this one, and it hasn’t had sufficient time to arrive yet.  All I can say is I.CAN’T.WAIT.  I don’t have a color even similar to this, so I am doing back flips in anticipation of this puppy’s arrival!  Be looking for the review for this one…

Shady Lady Shady Lady

This one looks amazing, I can see this in the summer or spring especially!  But I like rule-breaking–I’m a wear white after Labor Day kinda girl!  This one is a bit of a safer bet for you girls that are a bit of a chicken with regard to bold lippies–but still bright enough to grace us with some pizzazz!

As of now, this company appears to mostly focus on lips–they have 2 eyeshadow palettes offered which look pretty cute too!

The lipsticks aren’t a bad price either–$19.00 USD each.  The eyeshadow is a bit pricey at $48.00.  What are your thoughts on Melt and what you see here?

5 Of The Best Lip Shades for Fall: Purple and Berry Puckers!

Left to right: Maybelline Sensational Voltage 1000, Ruby Kisses RMLS13 Matte, Maybelline Expresso Exposed 99, Maybelline Color sensations Violet Intrigue 995

WILL WE BE FASHIONABLE?  It is my opinion that purples and berry colors look great on everyone, regardless of skin tone or hair color! On very fair skin it translates to a sexy vampy look, and for those who are dark-toned like myself, a berry color can almost translate to a nude-like shade.  It can be a little edgy, all the while maintaining class and sophistication with a side of seduction! Ooh la la!

Today I’m going to share with you 5 of my favorite fall shades! Let’s get this party started!

Maybelline Lavender Voltage 1000:  This color is very bright and electric! It’s smooth and moisturizing–it feels great on your lips! This is also a great one for spring as well!  It isn’t a long-lasting lip color, so if you lip-lock or wolf down a cheeseburger then it’s game-over. I still love it though and it has great shine!

Ruby Kisses Matte: This one is a super el-cheapo that I picked up at my local beauty supply store. It really surprised me! Not for the shy girl, as the color is SUPER dark and bold and really intense!!! It’s completely shine -free and it isn’t terribly drying. It’s ultra sexy!

Maybelline Expresso 99: This one is deep and rich and almost looks like a nude with my skin. It has slightly less shine than the ColorSensational brands and it has more stamina.

Maybelline ColorSensation Violet Intrigue 995: This one and the Voltage 1000 are kissing-cousins! They wear about the same, but Violet Intrigue has more pink in it.

Also, featured in one of my previous posts is Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless. I can’t get enough of Shameless, I tell you! It is my dominant and I am its submissive!

Revlon Colorburst in Shameless

So there you have it folks! I’ve had these all for quite some time, but they are all still available on various sites online ranging from approximately $.99-$10.00 USD. I saw all of the above on Amazon for a great price!

Happy Smooching!  Xo!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm Shameless, Showy and Striking

WILL WE BE FASHIONABLE? So I’m a big fan of Matte lip shades. This one is terrific because it doesn’t leave your lips dry. Striking is a deep and rich purple for those of you feeling bold and sassy! It’s also highly pigmented. It comes in a pencil – like form, and the upside is that it doesn’t break like lipstick can.  It is like a pencil and a lipstick made a baby! Also, some matte shades can appear blotchy and uneven in color distribution. Striking is NOT one of them! One of my faves! Werk!

Showy: This was one of them! Lol
