Beautiful Trendy Jewelry from Tara Lynn’s Boutique!

Happy Summer!  Hope your 4th of July was poppin!

If you’re anything like me, then you LOVE finding beautifully, unique jewelry pieces.  I stumbled upon a STUNNING necklace and I wanted to share some information with you guys about it.

Do you remember when we looked at some super cute clothes from Tara Lynn’s Boutique in a previous post?  This place is one of my favorites, because you see a lot of clothing that appears to be one-of-a-kind (you don’t see it on everyone else)!  The price point is a bit on the higher-end (not crazy expensive though), and honestly, good quality, unique clothing is SO worth it, right?

Now, back to their jewelry–I had the honor of receiving this complimentary in exchange for my honest review.  What do you think?

TL necklace 2

The picture just simply does not do it justice!    It’s well-constructed, and I love the versatility of it!  It’s one of those pieces that seriously anyone could wear…young or old, edgy or not!  It’s heavy enough so that you know it’s made with good quality materials, but not so heavy that it’s uncomfortable to wear.  I had most fun sporting it with a plain tank, but you could most certainly wear this with your Sunday’s finest!

Additionally, they have fantastic customer service!  This place is a win-win in my book…great fashion, cool jewelry….

So, have you heard of Tara Lynn’s Boutique?  What did you see on their website that you love for summer 2016?

***I’ll let you in on a little secret, I have more super cute things to share with you from this company!  Stay-tuned!***

New Beauty Items of Interest!

I really only listed this one because I love the name…Perversion Mascara by Urban Decay.  Okay, so the description sounds interesting too!  Who doesn’t want the “biggest, blackest, baddest lashes ever?”  Sign me up!

Because I’m a part of the short, stubby, eyelash crew, I’m constantly on the lookout for a mascara that’s going to do me some justice! As we’ve discussed, I’m really a fake lash girl, but sometimes I just don’t have time to put them on!  To date, I’m still making love to Benefit They’re Real mascara (see my previous post regarding the dirty deetz) but it may be time to spice things up with some perversion!

Get bigger, blacker, badder lashes with our ultra-creamy, lengthening and volumizing mascara. So intense you might need a safe word, Perversion glides on and gets you sexy in one stroke. (Yet it won’t quit until you say when.) It’s insane how black it is…the purest, deepest, most intense black color imaginable.

Perversion has a creamy, full-bodied texture that’s not too dry, not too wet. This allows just the right amount of “pull” so it glides through lashes. The result: incredible control for insane lashes. Go ahead and pile on coat after coat. Want to apply more before you go out at night? No problem. Even if it’s been all day since you applied, more Perversion always means more beautiful lashes. Our formula NEVER gets brittle or clumpy.

What are nail salons doing these days now that everyone can just buy their own cheaper gel nail polish without the hassle? Sally Hansen has a line out, learn about it here.  Wet n Wild also has some great shades in their new line called 1-Step Wondergel Nail Color (18 shades), have you tried one?  Do these really last an entire 2 weeks?

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Wonder Gel! The first gel formula that doesn’t require a top coat and cures without a lamp, this nail color breakthrough is about to become your nail superhero. Provides up to 2 weeks of color and shine in 1 easy step.

This was sent to me recently in exchange for my honest review, are you hip?  Magnif’eyes Double Ended Shadow Liner is very much ‘the business’ in my book!  Admittedly, I have not yet used the eyeshadow portion as of yet (but I will report back once I do)!

I was in a super quick hurry and wanted to jazz up my eyes with a thick, bright winged-eye  paired with a lippie from the Kate Nude Collection that I showed you previously (view colors here).  This blue was absolutely perfect, the color was soooooo bright and pretty, very noticeable in the royal/cobalt family.  Check out this swatch!

Last but not least……

thigh chain

This makes my life right here!  My thighs are of ji-goon-dus capacity and I still want one, and plan to cop it…the infamous thigh-chain!  Yassssssss!

Sold yet?  These appear to be available just about everywhere, but the easiest for me will be my beloved Amazon!  For all you Etsy girls, there’s a wide array of styles on there too.  Super cute with a swimsuit, shorts or a skirt!  Ooooh Weeeee!

So what have you tried from this list?  Or, what are you planning to try?  Is a thigh-chain for you this spring?

Outside the Box: Hoochie-Mama Wedding Wear

It’s spring and lovvvvvvvvve is in the air!  Two of my friends have upcoming nuptials this year and it got me to daydreaming and thinking…what if I was getting married on a beach somewhere?  Or somewhere casual where it’s hot and sunny and shorts would be the bizness?  Yes, yes, I’m already married.  My wedding was faboo and I wore a traditional gown which I loved!  But originally we wanted to get married in Florida on the beach…

Do any of you girls daydream like this and play the what if game? Oh, you don’t?  Well, you’re in luck–since I do, I’m going to share with you some of my recent findings!  Let’s play…Let’s Get Married (thank you Jagged Edge), spring, 2016!!!!

Oh, so you’re not a virgin you say?  No worries.  You don’t have to wear white.  Here’s a sexy little Ivory number entitled Summer Romance Romper for your viewing pleasure!  I like how this one tricks the eye into believing that it’s a skirt!  But low and behold, it’s shorts.  Werk!

  • Crossed Back
  • 100% Nylon

Very simple, but with a sexy peek-a-boo midriff, the Dove-Like Romper would make a landing to remember!  Jazz it up with some strapy heels or if it’s beachy, flat, sparkly silver sandals.

  • 100% Polyester

You a member of the “I hate my legs crew” but still got a hot bod and like to flaunt it?  Then maybe the Neck Deep Jumpsuit is your choice of poison.  This sucker is unforgiving though, and you better make sure you’ve got some lineless undies!  Ijs!

So, what do you think ladies?  I hope you’ve thoroughly enjoyed your trip down what-if-I-didn’t-wanna-wear-a-wedding-dress lane!  Have you ever purchased anything from this site?  They have a lot of amazing fashion!

Spring 2016: Books for Rainy Day Reading

Hello there, gorgeous!  Hope you’re hanging with me throughout my slight hiatus.  I have a confession…I have been spending all of my spare time….READING!  Now honestly, I don’t get much spare time. Between being a wife, mom and soaking up this spring sun exercising and playing outdoors, I don’t get much time for anything else!  Yes, fashion, beauty, makeup, hair and all that good stuff still tickle my fancy.  However, I’m a true book-lover at heart.  You may remember getting a sneak preview of that during one of my previous posts, Sexy Reads for Fall Snuggles.  And I’ve been spending every waking moment that I can (during my kid’s naps mostly) reading my ass off!  Here’s what I’ve marked off my book list lately:

no second chance

Dr. Marc Seidman has been shot twice, his wife has been murdered, and his six-month-old daughter has been kidnapped. When he gets the ransom note-he knows he has only one chance to get this right. But there is nowhere he can turn and no one he can trust.

This book was FAB! It has the right amount of mystery and suspense to keep your adrenaline pumping.  It kept me on the edge of my seat, and it started off with a bang, literally!  Are you in the market for a book that takes you on a virtual roller coaster ride? There were so many close calls that I think the book itself gave me anxiety and trust issues.  From start to finish, you’ll never guess how it turns out.

the-juliette-societyTHE JULIETTE SOCIETY

Before we go any further, let’s get this out of the way. I want you to do three things for me.
One. Do not be offended by anything you read beyond this point.
Two. Leave your inhibitions at the door.
Three, and most important. Everything you see and hear from now on must remain between us.
Now, let me take you to a place you’ve never been before…

Sounds great right?  Lies!  This book SUCKED.  I was in the mood for something sex-ay!  I became pregnant after reading Fifty Shades of Grey (yes, it was that good, hunny), and I don’t think I’ve read anything that sexy since (thus the reason I only have one child at this point 🙂 ).  Welp, this one didn’t do it.  It was horribly written, and the main character had a lot of flashbacks and in-her-head weird moments that confused the mind and made you wonder what exactly you were reading.  It made the storyline jumpy, the sex scenes seemed to be written by a truck-driver or construction worker that needed to get his jollies and it was just overall TACKY.  FAIL.

the pretty oneTHE PRETTY ONE

All Megan Fletcher had wanted was to be like her sister Lucy: a beautiful, thin girl whom everyone at the Chesapeake School for Performing Arts worshipped and adored. While Lucy was a star actress with lots of fans, Megan had always been hiding behind the set designs that she and her best friend Simon had created, hoping that no one would notice her. And then one day, life as Megan knew it had changed forever. Megan was in an accident that disfigured her face and plastic surgeons had to restructure it very carefully. Only no one would have thought that when the bandages came off, Megan would be even more beautiful than Lucy.

Okay, you caught me!  I love to read books out of the juniors section…so what?!  I also buy clothes out of that section too, but that’s a confession for another day…

If you’re expecting deep, life-changing and profound, then this most certainly is NOT the book for you.  If, however, you have a busy and hectic life, get bombarded with real life ish, and want to take a break from all the madness with a no-brainer, then this is the book for you.  It’s unrealistic and childish at points, but with that being said, I lowkey LOVED it!  Ha!

lynburn series.png

Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.

But all that changes when the Lynburns return.

The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the-Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?

The above is the synopsis for book one.  If you’re into a good fantasy read, and you love series (and series are my FAVEEEEE) then give this one a try.  I have to say, I’m a pretty straight shooter…I don’t willingly do fantasy reads unless I hear tons of buzz  or I’m coerced.  I dug Twighlight and The Hunger Games–they were some of my faves!  So when my cousins let me borrow this series I was excited to read it, yet reluctant because this type of read isn’t my go-to.  Although it started off slow, I was quickly dedicated to this series and enjoyed every second of it!  The book had tons of dry humor which I adore, and it was a smooth read!

Breathing Series

In the affluent town of Weslyn, Connecticut, where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection while pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises – not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth – but at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she’s desperate to hide.

I’m currently reading this one now, and I’m halfway through book 3.  This one is a stunner!!!  I didn’t expect it to be all that, I just grabbed it because I copped the entire series at once for a great price at Half-Price Books.  Have you ever read a book that you felt like once it was over, it had taken a piece of your soul with it?  Oh, it’s just me this happens to?  I haven’t even finished it yet, but it’s amazing!  It’s deep, multifaceted, overwhelming, emotional, sexy, sad, and at times humorous! Go go go!

So what’s on your book list?  Have you read any of the above, or had experience with any of these above authors?

Staying Fashionable with Tara Lynn’s Boutique

Have you heard of Tara Lynn’s Boutique?  I first became aware of them on Instagram.  They have some amazing, unique pieces, some of which I want to share with you today!  One must always have bomb clothes to go with cute makeup, right? I received the opportunity to wear these in exchange for my honest review, so be looking for that post in the upcoming months!  However, because it’s currently cold as heck in Missouri, I can’t sport the clothing now…waaaa!

So here’s a little backstory on them:

It all started with a little too much online shopping and a love for fashion.  Growing up in the great state of Louisiana, I was raised with Southern values which are prominent in my everyday life.

With the ever growing expenses of raising children, I wanted to do something to help out.  Laying in bed one night, I came up with what I thought was the perfect solution.  With lots of prayers, I suggested the idea to my husband.  To my surprise he agreed to indulge my “crazy idea” of an online boutique.

Within months the boutique became a huge success and continues to grow by leaps and bounds.  Now my friends shop at my site, instead of my closet.

Tara Lynn’s offers quality clothing at affordable prices.  We strive to be the place that every woman thinks to check for the latest trends.  We are always designing new items for the ever changing fashion trends.

Now to the good stuff! Let’s take a look.  I want to spotlight skirts/dresses because I’m obsessed with them and hope it makes spring and summer come even faster!  🙂

black and white striped skirt 1black and white striped skirt 2 I love this striped skirt, and it looks great paired with this denim shirt.  I find this skirt so versatile, you could dress it up with heals or wear it casually with some flats and a red tee!  It would even be cute with some ankle boots and tights for winter.

tulle midiHave you tried a tulle midi yet?  I have not, I tried on a tulle skirt a while back and I didn’t think it was flattering on my figure.  However, I may revisit one, and I do love the look of them!  This one comes in navy, red and black–so cute!  And reasonably priced!  I’d like to pair this with a tank and a cropped jean jacket!

unique skirt 2unique skirt I wanted to share this for the sheer uniqueness of this piece.  I love!  I like the way this Pops of Color skirt looks with this striped top and I would probably wear it with a simple tight hot pink V-neck and maybe some gladiator sandals?  What do you think, are you bold enough to wear this?

bohemian maxibohemian maxi 2  Another unique piece, this Bohemian Maxi has such a pretty color combination.  It also comes in an additional shade, but this one is my favorite.  I think the wide-cut neck makes this a sexy number, without showing too much!  I haven’t worn anything like this personally, and it would be stepping outside of my comfort zone due to the pattern and length. But it’s SO pretty and sophisticated, at least it is on the model! Ha!  And, it’s currently sold-out, so it must be pretty popular.  What do you think?

chevronchevron 2This Chevron Maxi is more my speed.  The pockets look great and  I love the way that it’s cinched in the waist–flattering and makes for a good ole hour-glass shape!  The mint is my favorite color, but it comes in coral (shown) as well as black, gray/mint, which is also SUPER cute as well as gray.

Do you think you’ll be trying anything from this company?  Some of the clothing is on the pricey side, but it’s good quality and they also have some items on the lower-end of the spectrum.  Do you like what you see?

Spring Beauty Trends for Normal folk or Nah?

We all know that celebrities and the like can get away with some fashion and makeup choices that you and I would be ostracized for!  LOL! I stumbled upon these upcoming spring trends while browsing around in magazines.  And, it is my civic duty to ensure you guys are in the know!  Are these all runway and/or celebrity looks?  Or, is this something you would try?

A similar colorblock eyeshadow look was featured in a spring 2016 show by Alexis MabilleThrowing what we have all learned regarding blending out the window, this highly pigmented splat of color in several places is sure to catch some attention.  Good attention though?  I think I’ll be skipping right past this one…

This gold lipstick was a big deal in Prada’s spring 2016 runway (I couldn’t make it due to prior obligations).  It’s funny how everything resurfaces, because I’ve rocked my fair share of golds throughout the years.  I don’t think I own a shade of gold quite this pure, but I do have a silver, does that count?  I think this look would be a yes for me, I’m a fan of a bold lip and I like the way it translates well on really fair as well as very dark skin tones.  Is this gold for you?

starburst eyeliner

This starburst eyeliner on the bottom lash line is giving me life without parole!  I wonder is it just as cute with her eyes open?  I’m really thinking of trying this, even if I have to keep my eyes closed all day long!  Will you?

So, you MUST try one from this list, or face a life where you can no longer wear makeup, EVER!  Which will you choose? ☺

Have a fashionable Friday,
