New Beauty Items of Interest!

perversion

I really only listed this one because I love the name…Perversion Mascara by Urban Decay.  Okay, so the description sounds interesting too!  Who doesn’t want the “biggest, blackest, baddest lashes ever?”  Sign me up!

Because I’m a part of the short, stubby, eyelash crew, I’m constantly on the lookout for a mascara that’s going to do me some justice! As we’ve discussed, I’m really a fake lash girl, but sometimes I just don’t have time to put them on!  To date, I’m still making love to Benefit They’re Real mascara (see my previous post regarding the dirty deetz) but it may be time to spice things up with some perversion!

Get bigger, blacker, badder lashes with our ultra-creamy, lengthening and volumizing mascara. So intense you might need a safe word, Perversion glides on and gets you sexy in one stroke. (Yet it won’t quit until you say when.) It’s insane how black it is…the purest, deepest, most intense black color imaginable.

Perversion has a creamy, full-bodied texture that’s not too dry, not too wet. This allows just the right amount of “pull” so it glides through lashes. The result: incredible control for insane lashes. Go ahead and pile on coat after coat. Want to apply more before you go out at night? No problem. Even if it’s been all day since you applied, more Perversion always means more beautiful lashes. Our formula NEVER gets brittle or clumpy.

Wet-N-Wild

What are nail salons doing these days now that everyone can just buy their own cheaper gel nail polish without the hassle? Sally Hansen has a line out, learn about it here.  Wet n Wild also has some great shades in their new line called 1-Step Wondergel Nail Color (18 shades), have you tried one?  Do these really last an entire 2 weeks?

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Wonder Gel! The first gel formula that doesn’t require a top coat and cures without a lamp, this nail color breakthrough is about to become your nail superhero. Provides up to 2 weeks of color and shine in 1 easy step.

magnifeyes

This was sent to me recently in exchange for my honest review, are you hip?  Magnif’eyes Double Ended Shadow Liner is very much ‘the business’ in my book!  Admittedly, I have not yet used the eyeshadow portion as of yet (but I will report back once I do)!

I was in a super quick hurry and wanted to jazz up my eyes with a thick, bright winged-eye  paired with a lippie from the Kate Nude Collection that I showed you previously (view colors here).  This blue was absolutely perfect, the color was soooooo bright and pretty, very noticeable in the royal/cobalt family.  Check out this swatch!

Last but not least……

thigh chain

This makes my life right here!  My thighs are of ji-goon-dus capacity and I still want one, and plan to cop it…the infamous thigh-chain!  Yassssssss!

Sold yet?  These appear to be available just about everywhere, but the easiest for me will be my beloved Amazon!  For all you Etsy girls, there’s a wide array of styles on there too.  Super cute with a swimsuit, shorts or a skirt!  Ooooh Weeeee!

So what have you tried from this list?  Or, what are you planning to try?  Is a thigh-chain for you this spring?

Makeup of Interest This Week

Good evening!  In case you’re too busy with the normal hustle and bustle of life to shop aisle by aisle, here are a of couple new drugstore makeup items:

loreal 1

Contour! Contour!  Contour!  Admittedly, I don’t contour much.  But, if you do, and are also into drugstore makeup, maybe this is one for you!  Have you tried it?  Downside, there’s not a big variety of shades.  Upside, the price!

The Infallible® Pro-Contour Palette makes contouring easy. Use the pro-contour brush to enhance and define features for a professional contoured look. Perfectly coordinated highlighting and contouring shades blend easily after applying for a flawless contoured look.

Colour Riche Eyeshadow comes in 15 shades!  Some of these shades are a little boring to me, but I do like this one shown, Teal Contour.  The price point isn’t bad, and if you like neutrals (which they have several of), it may be something to look into!  Am I the only one that truly prefers an entire palette over individuals?

New Colour Riche® Monos celebrate vibrant self-expression with 15 cutting edge colors in matte and shimmery finishes. Experience cutting edge gel-to-powder technology and easy application inspired by makeup artists. Build out endless looks. Discover your newest color obsession.

Naked

I had the pleasure of receiving Mica Pigment, Sierra Nevada 05 in last month’s Ipsy box.  One word…BOMB. This stuff is amazing!!!!!!! I’ve used it on my eyes so far but, my plan is to soon use it on my lips to do glittery ombre’.  It’s so bright, and amazingly enough, once it’s on, it doesn’t have a lot of fallout.  What was your favorite in last month’s Ipsy box?

Melt Cosmetics & Christina Moss’ Organic Soap

It’s been coveted for a long time…watched from afar.  Drooled over–it made my heart skip a beat.  I wrote its name in hearts, and often dreamt of the day when we would be united.  I have been in love with twins, not identical, but fraternal.  Yes, it’s freaky, don’t judge me!  I love them both the same.  And on Valentine’s Day, my world was rocked when I received them both, courtesy of my husband!  Melt Cosmetics’ Love Sick and Dark Matter Stack!  LOL!  What else could I have been talking about?  Get your mind out of the gutter!

If you’ve followed me, you know that I’ve had a major thing for Melt Cosmetics.  I’ve tried their lipstick and loved, and have really wanted the eyeshadows…but I’m such a drugstore girl, I’ve had a hard time finding the desire of coming off of $48 for 4 shades.

See previous post regarding Melt Cosmetics

But baaaaaby, thank goodness for holidays and gifts! Let’s discuss!

melt lovesick

The Love Sick Stack!

PROMISCUOUS- a beautiful color changing violet-blue! Use it alone, or combine it with black to reveal a completely different shade!

FIXATED – a gorgeous matte grey inspired by one of our favorite lipsticks, Space Cake, so pigmented and cool you have to see to believe

AMELIE- a perfectly peachy gold, you’ll want to add it all over Cheeks! Highlight! Eyes! It glistens and glides on with ease

LOVE SICK- a beautiful ultra-matte burgundy-red …inspired by our most popular lipstick 6six6!

dark matter stack 1.jpg

Dark Matter Stack!

BLURR- a soft beautiful blending/eraser shadow

UNSEEN- a cool-medium delicious caramel brown

ENIGMA- a beautiful rusted red-brown

DARK MATTER- the most pigmented pitch-black

Okay, so both stacks are equally as awesome!  Prior to purchase, I showed SLIGHT favoritism to Dark Matter.  But, all of these shades compliment each other, and I’ve had so much fun mixing and matching.  It is true, they’re VERY highly pigmented and deliver great color that lasts all day without creasing, fallout and have are so easy to blend!  Amelie, of the Lovesick Stack, is such an original color, and so bright!  I’ve enjoyed putting this on my brow bone, as well as well as my bottom lash line (and truly every where else in between 😉 ).  Promiscuous is one of the brightest, most unique shades of purple that I own!  Love Sick contains the most sparkly colors.

Dark Matter is team captain of the matte crew.  It oftentimes is difficult to get matte eyeshadow that’s highly pigmented, especially for dark skin like mine.  Dark Matter is the truth, shows up so well on my skin and does not fade throughout the day.  Enigma, is amazing–I would say these collections are highly moving to the top of my favorite list!!!!  They’ve recently added Radioactive, which I’m not yet a super fan of and have not yet purchased.  We’ll see how that plays out…

At the end of the day, after dabbling in all that makeup, it’s great to have something organic to wash and cleanse your face and body!  Do you remember in my previous post when we touched on some of the great products from Christina Moss Naturals?

organic soapNo, this is not a roast!  (or maybe it is just me, I’m pretty imaginative).  This, is the organic, all-natural Glycerin Bath Bar! It lathered well, yet was very gentle on my skin, and I was able to even use this on my face!  It’s a smooth and silky consistency, and I didn’t experience any skin tightness which is great.  It comes with 2 bars and it won’t break the bank.  Here’s a little about the product:

  •  PERFECT FOR ALL SKIN TYPES. HYPOALLERGENIC. ESPECIALLY GREAT FOR THOSE WITH VERY SENSITIVE, DRY OR OILY SKIN: NO harmful chemicals (no SLS, SLES, PG, PG derivatives, parabens, sulfates, dyes or synthetic fragrance). • CRUELTY FREE – NO ANIMAL TESTING. VEGAN FORMULA: Environmentally friendly. TWO BAR SET. Gently & thoroughly cleanses your skin without stripping, drying out your skin or leaving build-up. I’ve Got Eyes for Eyeshadow!

I wish I’d won the most recent powerball!!!!!  Did any of you win?  Well, until I strike it rich, I’ll likely always have a makeup wishlist for eyeshadow–my FAVORITE! Here’s what’s tickling my fancy at the moment:

elf eyeshadow bakede.l.f Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Brown Bonanza

Looks purdee!  I love that shimmery gold.  I haven’t tried many baked eyeshadows.  But you DO know how I feel about ELF (see previous post on bomb-ass eyeshadow).

melt lovesick Melt Cometic’s Love Sick Stack

This one wins my soullllllllllllllllllllllll.  I make love to this palette every night in my dreams!  LOL!  I’m such a drugstore/sale/bargain shopper, that I have a hard time coming up off of $48.00 for a damn 4 color palette.  But in a perfect world, where money grew on trees and I didn’t have a child or bills, I would’ve bought this ages ago! I love Melt’s lipstick in Blow, remember?

pallette

Sephora Collection Jem and The Holograms: Truly Outrageous Eyeshadow Palette

24 bright shades for the cheap!  Now this is my zone!  I think I could probably deal without the super light colors at the top, but all of the others catch my eye for sure.

purple eyeshadow

Mac Eyeshadow X9 Purple Times Nine

YASSSSSSS **claps, stomps foot and twirls**.   There’s so much talk of Mac Lipstick, but what’s your take on Mac eyeshadows?

Pop Art Color Extreme 24 Color Pressed Pigment Palette

These colors look highly pigmented…FAVE!  Good mix of dark and pastels…and the price is great!

So what do you think of these?  Are any of these on your wishlist, or do you have something similar you’re in dire need of from the same company?

Two Faced, Binkle & Wet n Wild

bust a wrap

Howdy folks!  Just wanted to pop in and give you the heads up on a couple things giving me life lately.  I have another one from the Wet n Wild limited holiday edition, you may remember the first I tried in my previous post was Wrapper’s Delight.  This one is called Bust a Wrap, and it’s similar in color but has a little bit more umph to it!  It has great sparkle, and oftentimes, when eyeshadow has so much sparkle, coverage sucks.  Wet n Wild avoided this problem though, and this trio gave smooth coverage and it lasted great!  Best part?  This ish is $2.99!  I loved the way all of these colors complimented each other, and I was able to use this pallet alone to create a great look!  The blue in this is one of my faves!

This next lil sucker was a treat in my most recent Ipsy bag, and boy was I pleasantly surprised! Tangerine Light 102 by J. Cat Beauty is absolutely phenomenal!  It is sooooooo bright and pretty and very highly pigmented with a huge amount of shine!  Also a great price at $4.99!  I can’t wait to try more of these, and the only downfall is that it doesn’t come in an actual pallet.  This was my first encounter with J. Cat Beauty, but I’m a fan now!

Wet n Wild Bust a Wrap & J. Cat Beauty Tangerine Light

melted rainbowTwo Faced Melted has been all the rage lately.  “The shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick, all in one high-impact formula. Bold, long-wearing color glides on cleanly with the precision tip applicator, delivering rich color with staying power.”

I tried the color Melted Rainbow, and I have to say, it didn’t give any color on my lips–nada, zilch, zero, zip…maybe a very pale pink.  Perhaps it would’ve translated well on someone with lighter skin/lips.  But, it felt fantastic, and I will wear this for gloss and to keep my lips from being chapped when needed.  It’s smooth and creamy, and my lips felt super moisturized while wearing.  I would certainly like to try this in a different color for sure!  These will run you about $21.00–a little pricey.

Thoughts on these?  What do you think about the Tangerine eyeshadow?  I love the color and it’s different from the ones I own so that’s always fun.  Have you tried Melted or are you a fan of Two Faced Cosmetics?

Winter Eye Pallet and Almost Organic Skin!

So how was your Christmas?  Mine was fantastic and I ate way too much as usual.  My boys were a little under the weather, but in spite of it all, we were together which is what counts and we made it a blast.

I received some great stuff!  I know that’s not what it’s all about, but my goodness, gifts are fun danggit!  One of my friends, who truly knows the way to my heart (makeup) gave me some fab items!  I wore the eye pallet this past weekend, and couldn’t wait to share it with you!  I’ve also stumbled upon some more healthy skin care items…

I received both of these items in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.  Have you guys heard of Oz Naturals?   The Sweet Almond and Macadamia Nut Body Butter is 60% organic, which made me giggle, because I thought things were either just organic or not, lol.  But I suppose anything organic is to the good!  It contains Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and Kukui Nut Oil  (which I’d never heard of).

It feels absolutely soothing on the skin, which I love!  I use this a lot on my hands which are sometimes extremely chapped after so much hand-washing.  It’s not as thick as some of the other butters I’ve used and it’s not too light either.  It’s really just right down the middle.  I think this one would even be okay to wear on your face although I haven’t tried it there yet.  It’s not particularly advertised as unscented, but to me, it really doesn’t smell like much of anything but it smells good!  Maybe just a very LIGHT fragrance of something natural.  I wouldn’t say it’s long-lasting, but it’s worth the reapply and comes in a large container for a good price–both are $14.99 each with Prime.

About the Product

  • THIS BODY BUTTER contains sweet almond & macadamia nut oil for the richest, silkiest replenishing all-over body moisturizer available. If you want your body to have that rich and healthy summer-shine, this is your body butter.
  • THIS BODY BUTTER is formulated to provide that healthy, shiny, summer look and is packed with nourishing ingredients to hydrate skin during harsh and dry winter months.
  • This NOURISHING & HYDRATING formula can also be used on the face for overly dry skin types.

The Olive & Jojoba Oil Nourishing Soufflé  is 70% Organic giggles a little.  It contains Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Green Tea and Shea Butter & B5.  This is a really interesting concept to me, as it doesn’t feel at all like I expected.  It’s not a lotion at all, but it almost feels like hair conditioner, but for your skin!  I don’t think it would help with ash as far as giving your skin a sheen, BUT, it does seem really soothing.  These two would be great to use in conjunction with each other–I would start with the Olive and Jojoba Oil Nourishing Soufflé’ first.  And I haven’t tried this on my face either (I’m really careful about what I put on my face, and like to try it other places for a while first), but I think this would be a win on the face because it’s so light and wouldn’t leave your skin oily.  It also mimics the light smell of their Body Butter, so for me, that’s great too–I’m not into heavy fragrance.

About the Product

  • ORGANIC BODY MOISTURIZE with olive and jojoba oil is the next step in the evolution of personal care for your entire body. Whipped to perfection, this excellent moisturizer gives your body the hydration it needs.
  • OUR NON-GREASY formula adds a silky-softness and imparts a healthy glow to all skin types.
  • THIS RICH SOUFFLE which includes Aloe Vera, Green Tea, Shea Butter, and Vitamin B5 softens rough spots, and heals dry skin, and is also an excellent massage cream.

wrappers delight

Wet N Wild Wrapper’s Delight is a breath of winter air!  Ahhh…  It’s a glittery smokey-eye palette (one can never have too many of those) and it delivers great, dark, rich color with some shimmer! It does have some fallout, which I seem to notice about Wet N Wild palettes, but it doesn’t deter me from them.  The blending was great on this one and it didn’t crease either…winning!  I couldn’t find this on their actual site, but I did see it on ebay and various other spots.  Perhaps it’s still in drugstores as well!  It’s worth the hunt and reasonably priced, about $7 or so!

Did you round up this palette this holiday season?

Gift Idea: The Color Workshop Eye Set

the color workshop

Hey guys!  I’m happy to inform you that I stumbled across another el-cheapo find that’s right on time for the holidays!  You could buy it for a gift or gift it to yourself!  I really almost bypassed it because it was close to the kiddie makeup section in wally world–you know the section that has the makeup for like 12 year-olds that usually don’t show any color when applied and have the fake whole nails with flowers and dogs on them?  I literally put it back twice.  But in the end, my inner makeup-addict demon won, and I threw it in the cart next to my other stuff.

Umm, don’t let that price fool you!  Because that eyeshadow is the bomb.com/cute/fantastic!  The colors blend super smoothly and they have just the right amount of sparkle (and, the sparkle isn’t just on top of the color, it goes all the way through).  As you can see, there is a great mix of fall, night and daytime looks in this set.  Score!  Now, you knowwwww how I feel about my Elf Eyeshadow Palette  Previous Post-Elf Eyeshadow Palette, and I’m not having an affair.  But The Color Worskshop and I may hold hands and kiss just a little…

It comes with some false eyelashes, 2 of which look semi-tarantula-ish and I haven’t tried yet.  Tarantula eyes aren’t my fave, but I’ll try anything once, maybe twice.  But it’s more like I’ve been too lazy to jack with those.  It comes with some sparkly liquid eyeliner which I tried and failed, miserably. And later, I kept feeling like I had pieces of it in my eye.  But, I’m going to reserve judgment on that because I haven’t used anything like that before. The color is dang sure pretty if you like glitter!

I haven’t used the gel eyeliner or other pencils in there either.  I’m truly just a sucker for self-sharpening, retractable eyeliners.  But I will for sure once I’m done bare-face slouching these days.

And it comes with eyeshadow applicators–uh, does anybody use these?  I only used mine to dab color on my arm prior to applying on my face because I was excited.  Isn’t everyone on the brush train?

Really, all of that other stuff is great, but I think $9.98 USD makes this a win, even if everything else was horrid.  Also, side note, check out this review on the walmart link.  It made me LOL!

What do you think about this set?

Oh, and I forgot, it comes with a mascara too.
